Welcome to Tao Dance Arts

Meet the Founders

Christine (left/up) and Van (right/down) are the passionate co-founders of Tao Dance Arts, a movement studio rooted in self-progression, creativity, and community. As working mothers balancing family and career, they understand the importance of holistic wellness and personal growth. Their shared love for aerial arts, pole dancing, acro yoga, and body movement workouts inspired them to create a welcoming space where people of all backgrounds and skill levels can thrive.

The Meaning Behind TAO

The name “TAO” carries rich cultural and personal significance:

In Tagalog, Ta-Oh means “person,” honoring Christine’s Filipino heritage. In Vietnamese, Tao means “I” or “me,” reflecting Van’s roots and personal journey. In Chinese, 道 (Dao) means “pathway” — a symbol of growth, evolution, and the journey each student takes through movement.

Christine and Van first met in a pole class in Hong Kong, where their shared passion sparked a friendship and a vision. Tao Dance Arts is the embodiment of that vision: a pathway to strength, confidence, and connection.
